From the recording Taking My Time
Sometimes I feel that my mind is slipping and I wonder what it must be like to suffer dementia. It is as though time is a thief and it is stealing memories and leaving only a maze behind. One of my more progressive songs. I loved creating this song on my Ensoniq TS12 keyboard!
Lyrics
Fading Frames
[Verse]
The mirror whispers who am I
A face I know but can't define
Shadows fall where names unwind
[Chorus]
Fading frames in a hollow hall
Who was I before it all
A world of colors
Now they blur
I’m losing me
I’m not so sure
[Verse 2]
A picture's edge
A jagged tear
Fingers trace but nothing’s there
Moments drift like smoke in air
[Prechorus]
Hold on tight
But it won’t stay
Slipping through like words in clay
[Chorus]
Fading frames in a hollow hall
Who was I before it all
A world of colors
Now they blur
I’m losing me
I’m not so sure
[Bridge]
The clock ticks soft
A thief in disguise
Stealing seconds
Stealing skies
Memory's a maze with no map inside
A spiral down where echoes hide
